ARCHIE VANHOOSE
1907-1974
  
Archie Vanhoose, 88, of Thealka succumbed to a lengthy Illness at
his home on Monday June 24, 1974.
  
Born on August 28, 1907, Mr. VanHoose was the son of the late
Lifis and Tilda Castle VanHoose.
  
He was a retired miner, member of the Freewill Baptist Church and
a member of Masonic Lodge No. 581 F & AM, Paintsville Chapter.
  
He is survived by his wife, Jessie Ratliff VanHoose; two sons,
Lincoln of Bridgeview, Ill., and Michael of Thealka; four
daughters, Jessie Alene Horn and Barbara Jean Castle, both of
Enon, Ohio, Bonnie Newsome of Harold and Zondra Baker of Thealka;
two brothers, Earl VanHoose of Thealka and Fred VanHoose of
Whitehouse and a sister, Nellie Taylor of Gallipolls, Ohio.
  
Funeral services for Mr. VanHoose were held Thursday, June 27, in
the Thealka Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend Don Fraley
officiating.
  
Burial was in the family cemetery at Thealka. Arrangements were
under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
