HEART AILMENT TAKES LOCAL WOMAN

Mrs. Susan Travis, 71, city, succumbed to a short illness
from a heart condition in a local hospital at 3 P. M.
Saturday, January 22, 1949.

Mrs. Travis had spent her entire life in Johnson County and
she leaves many friends and relatives.

She was born March 18, 1877, in the Franks Creek vicinity,
the daughter of Aaron and Mary Salyer Fairchild.

She was married to Henry Travis who died in 1943.

She is survived by two sons and four daughters, Jay and
Buell Travis, city, Mrs. Ethel Caudill, Stambaugh, Mrs.
Eliza Ross, Waverly, O., Miss Hazel Travis, city, and Mrs.
Marie Pugh, city.

She also leaves the following brothers and sisters, James
Ramey, Waverly, O., Rennie Ramey, and Walter Ramey, both of
Ashland, Lunday Ramey, Wakefield, O., and Mrs. John Caudill,
Blaine, Ky.

Funeral services were held at the United Baptist Church here
on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 1949 at 11 A. M.

Burial was made in the Lower Franks Creek cemetery under the
direction of the Jones Funeral Home.
