For Prominent Man

Ralph Stafford, 71, a member of one of Johnson County’s
most prominent families dies Wednesday evening at 7
o’clock at a local hospital, following a heart attack
suffered earlier in the afternoon.

Born March 25, 1881, he was the son of the late Jesse and
Ann Turner Stafford.  He had been a resident of
Staffordsville most of his life.

Mrs. Stafford was a member of the First Christian Church
in this city.

A former Johnson County school teacher he had been
engaged in the real estate business for a number of
years.

He also had oil and gas holding.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mollie Higgins Stafford;
one daughter, Mrs. Roerta Kersterson, Madisonville, KY.,
one granddaughter, Geraldine Kesterson, Madisonville,
KY.; two brothers, Harry Stafford, city; and Jesse
Stafford, Jr., Grayson, KY., and three sisters, Mrs.
Beatrice Grigsby, Richmond, KY., Mrs. Molly Litman, city,
and Mrs. Rosa Spradlin, Stafforsville.

Funeral services will be conducted at the First Baptist
Church Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. with the Revs.
Joseph  Zavadsky and Hoge Hockensmity officiating

Burial will be made in the family cemetery  at
Staffordsville under the direction of the Paintsville
Funeral Home.
