Emmaline McFadden Dies Following Stroke
Mrs. Emmaline Nelson McFaddin, 70, resident of Thealka died in a local hospital at 11:25 p.m., Wednesday Nov.12, after an illness of five days. Death was caused by a stroke.
The daughter of William Lewis and Sarah Chandler Lyons, she was born in Lawrence County, September 13, 1888.
A member of the Freewill Baptist Church, she had lived at Thealka for fifty years.
Her first marriage was to William David Nelson, who died November 20, 1932. Her second marriage was to Barnes McFaddin, who preceded her in death in 1949.
Surviving are three sons, Ishmael Nelson, Thealka; Vencil and Issac Nelson, both of this city; one stepson, Charlie Nelson, Sheridan, Indiana; three daughters; Miss Louise Nelson and Virginia Trimble, both of Thealka; Mrs. Millard Stambaugh and Virginia Trimble, both of Thealka; Mrs. Millard Stambaugh, Catlettsburg; four step-daughters, Mrs. F.M. Gambill, Ashland, Mrs. Harry Gambill, LaGrange, Mrs. Everett Combs, Paine, Ohio; Mrs. George Lyons, Garett; four brothers, George Lyons, Garett, Willie Lyons, Prestonsburg; Roscoe Lyons, Beauty; Abraham Lyons, Thealka; three sisters, Mrs. Matt Tomison, Lowmansville; Mrs. Malcom Whitt, Stellaa; Mrs. Dora Preston, Memphis, Ohio; 24 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, November 16, from the Thealka, Freewill Baptist Church with Don Fraley and James Lyons as officiating ministers.
Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery at Thealka.
