BELVA MAHAN JOHNSON
FORMER RESIDENT SUCCUMBS TUES. Rites To Be Thursday For Mrs. Johnson, 62
Mrs. Belva Mahan Johnson, 62, of Jenkins, died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in a local hospital following a short illness.
She was a cousin of Mrs. Ralph B. Preston and Mrs. Fannie Blankenship of this city.
Born October 16, 1895, at Oil Springs, she was the daughter of William and Georgeann Mahan. She had been a resident of Jenkins for 25 years.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, G. C. Johnson; five sons, John Johnson, Louisville; William Johnson, Jenkins; Russell Johnson, Cleveland, Ohio; Walter Johnson, Fort Knox and James Johnson, Jenkins; and three daughters, Mrs. Katherine Clark, Jenkins; Mrs. Anna Mae Mullins, Jenkins and Mrs. Sarah Gaines, Louisville. She is also survived by two brothers, Hobart Mahan, Jenkins, and Charles Mahan, and three sisters, Lucille Mahan, Shelby, Ky., Marie Ramsey, Shelby, Ky., and Mrs. Lee French, Shelby, Ky.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Oil Springs Methodist Church with the Rev. W.F. Pettus officiating.
Burial will be made in the Litteral Cemetery under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.
