SERVICES TOMORROW 
AT HOME OF SON

Mrs. Mary Dixon, 53, prominenet and respected woman of the
county, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. M. Davis
at Winfred, Wednesday, October 4, at 10:30 p. m., after an
illness of several months.

Following within two days the death of her sister-in-law,
Mrs. Guy Dixon of Wittensville, her death was the second in
the Dixon family this week.

The daughter of the late Andy and Louise Moore Hayes, she
was born in Lawrence County September 27, 1867.

A beloved member of this community where she has resided for
the past four years, her death was a shock to her many
friends there and throughout this section. A member of the
Freewill Baptist Church, she lived a devoted Christian life.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, Alonzo Dixon.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. C. M. Davis, Winfred,
with whom she made her home; four sons, Rolla and Hasca,
City; Arie, Charleston, W. Va.; Elmer, Mallie, KY.; three
brothers also survive, Z. B. Hayes, Los Angeles; John Hayes,
Jenkins; G. B. Hayes, Ashland. Surviving also are twenty-one
grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, October 6, at
2:00 p. m., at the home of Hasca Dixon in King Addition.

Burial will be in the Dixon Cemetery near Wittensville under
the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.
