ALBERT DAWSON
THELMA RESIDENT, DIES SATURDAY
Albert Dawson, 73, died at his home at Thelma, at 11:20 p.m., Saturday, January 16, 1960, after a two year illness.
The son of Frank and Mary Nelson Dawson, he was born January 10, 1887, at Thealka and had been a lifelong resident of that section.
His first wife died February 2, 1947 and his widow, Mrs. Anna Barber Dawson, survives.
Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Earl Dawson, David; Cecil Dawson, Royalton; Ray Dawson of this city; two daughters Francis Simpson, City; Roberta Allen, Prestonburg; two brothers, Theodore Dawson, Thelma; Charlie Dawson, Ohio; six sisters, Mrs. Dora Branham, Ohio; Mrs. Jess Vanhoose, White House; Mrs. Susie Jones, Ohio; Mrs. Hazel Van Hoose, Ohio; Mrs. Thelma Maynard, Ohio; Mrs. Ellen Burchett, Lowmansville.
Also surviving are thirty grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 19, 1960 from the Thelma Schoolhouse with Tom Sammons as officiating minister.
Burial was in the Sparks Cemetery at Thelma.
