THEODORE BURCHETT
Theodore (Ted) Burchett, 60, former heavy equipment operator, died Monday, April 7, at his home in Stambaugh.
The son of Noah and Mary E. Stambaugh Burchett, he was born February 25, 1915, at Van Lear.
He was a member of the Locust Grove United Baptist Church, and a Navy veteran of World War II.
His wife, Sybil Davis Burchett, survives.
Also surviving are six sons and two daughters. They include William Lewis Burchett of Nippa, Freddie Burchett of Sitka, and Higgy Paul Burchett, Kenneth Burchett, Teddy Burchett, Ronnie Burchett, Mrs. Mary Grace Stewart and Darla Ann Burchett, all of Stambaugh.
Two brothers, Jessie Burchett of Wittensville and Hervey Burchett of Stambaugh, and two sisters, Mimia Stambaugh of Wittensville and Annie Stambaugh of Stambaugh, also survive, as do seven grandchildren.
Services were to be held Thursday, April 10, at the Locust Grove Baptist Church, with Elders Buell Ferguson, Arnold Reed and Charles Price officiating.
Burial was to follow in the family cemetery at Stambaugh.
Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
