RUPERT BLANTON 1908-2001 Oil Springs resident Rupert Blanton, 92, died Monday, March 12, 2001 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center. Mr. Blanton was born October 24, 1908, in Salyersville, to the late Amos and Florence Blanton. He was a livestock dealer. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Marie Blanton. Surviving are one daughter, Shirley A. Blevins of Springfield, Ohio; and one granddaughter and one  great-great-granddaughter. Graveside services were held Thursday at Johnson County Memorial Cemetery. Paintsville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
