Heart Attack Fatal To Kendrick Blanton
Kendrick Blanton, about 62, widely known Baptist minister of Johnson County, and an employee of the Ashland Oil and Refining Company in the Oil Springs field, died Tuesday evening in a local hospital of a heart attack.
He was stricken a few hours before his death.
He was a resident of Volga.
Surviving are his wife and two sons.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete as the Herald goes to press.

Kendrick Blanton, 61,
Dies In Local Hospital
Kendrick Blanton, 61, died Tuesday, July 16, in a local
hospital following a brief illness. He was a resident of
Volga.
Born October 3, 1895 in Johnson County, he was the son of Jim
Mack and Sarah McCarty Blanton.
He was a minister for the United Baptist Church and was an
employee of the Ashland Oil and Refining Company.
Surviving are his wife, Nollie Lemaster Blanton, two sons,
Buell Blanton of Woodstock, O., and Paul Blanton of Volga and
two sisters, Virgie Gullett of Red Bush and Laura Lemaster of
Win.
Services were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday from the Fish Trap
United Baptist Church with Tommie Bailey, Lonza Reed and
Thurman Ferguson as officiating ministers.
Burial was made at Low Gap in the Williams Cemetery.
