MARGARET AKERS 1960 Mrs. Margaret Akers, 89, well known resident of West Van Lear, died at her home at 3:35 p.m., Monday, April 11, 1960 after an illness of several years. The daughter of Abraham and Nancy Jones Music, she was born in this county and had been a resident of West Van Lear for a number of years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Akers was preceded in death by her husband, Elliott Akers, in 1948. Surviving are five children; two sons, Russell Akers, Pittsburg, Pa.; Frank Akers, West Van Lear; three daughters, Mrs. Ruby Norman, West Van Lear; Mrs. Ernest Meek of this city; Mrs. Dwight Brown, Barnoursville; one sister, Mrs. Ruann Goble, Lancer; one brother, William Music, Auxier. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. today from the West Van Lear Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. M.R. Thomason and Rev. Reuter as officiating ministers. Pallbearers were, Charles Spears, Ed Preston, Joe McCoart, Norman Lee, Victor Conley, and Frank Davis. Burial was in the family cemetery. Paintsville Herald Wednesday Apr.13 1960
