MART WELCH
1911-1986
Mart Welch, 74, died Friday, April 4, 1986 in Paul B. Hall Medical
Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Welch was born June 22, 1911, in Johnson County, the son of
LIGE and MARGARET ROWLAND WELCH.
He was a resident of Whitehouse, a retired miner and a member of
the Whitehouse Enterprise Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Esther Butcher Welch, who he married
December 13, 1931; two sons, Mart Ray Welch and Marlin Jay Welch,
both of Whitehouse; two daughters, Margaret Jean Spears, of
Whitehouse, and Melda Corine Wiley, of Meally; a brother, Ralph
Welch, of Whitehouse; two sisters, May Lemaster, of Wheelersburg,
OH, and May Darby, of Columbus, OH; and three grandchildren,
Earlette Meade, of Van Lear, Londa Gayle Meek, of Flatwoods, and
Braig Booth, of Paintsville.
Funeral services were held Sunday April 6, in Whitehouse Enterprise
Baptist Church with Charlie Wiley and Tommy Meade officiating.
Burial was in Son Butcher Cemetery at Whitehouse, with Preston
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Paul R. Childers, Michael J. Childers, Danny
Childers, Mary Welch, Darrin Spears and David J. Welch.
