Services Held Monday For Mrs. Leonard Penix
Mrs. Mollie Van Hoose Wiley Penix, 62, a resident of Williamsport,
Ky., died at the Methodist Hospital at Pikeville Saturday, October
25, 1952 following an illness of a year.
Born in Johnson County March 1, 1890, she was the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Lafe Van Hoose.
Surviving besides her husband, Leonard Penix, are one son, Earl
Wiley, Williamsport, Ky., one daughter, Mrs. Normel Sparks
Cumberland, Ky., 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Other survivors include the following brothers and sisters; Mrs.
Ed England, Regine, Ky., Millard Van Hoose, Chicage, Ill., Dan Van
Hoose, Freeland Van Hoose, and Charles Van Hoose, all of
Pikeville, Ky., Clyde Van Hoose, Lowmansville, Ky., John Van
Hoose, Columbus, Ohio, and Mrs. Side Moore of Pikeville.
Funeral services were held at the River Church at 1:00 p.m. Monday
with the Revs. Germ Walters, Merdia Wiley, C.J. Sparks and Earl
Muncy officiating.
Burial was made in the Ward Cemetery at River, Ky.
