VERNA BROWNING
1898-1977
Verna Browning, 78, died Sunday, July 3, in Paintsville Hospital
after an extended illness.
Mrs. Browning was born Mar 9, 1898 in Johnson County, the daughter of
John and Susan Mahan Clay.
She was a resident of Paintsville and a member of the Freewill
Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Eugene Browning; a son, Gene A. "Spanky"
Browning of Paintsville; a sister, Alka Stricklin of Paintsville and
two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 5 in the First Freewill
Baptist Church in Paintsville with Revs. Lowell Webb and Bob Lyons
officiating.
Burial was in the Mayo Cemetery in Paintsville with Jones-Preston
Funeral Home handling arrangements.
