West Van Lear resident, Tessie Burke Wells Webb, 86, died April 29
1985, in Paul B. Hall Medical Center.
  
Mrs. Webb was born March 9 1899, in Johnson County, a daughter of
Grant and Addie Clifton Burke.
  
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
  
She was preceded in death by two husbands, John Colvin Wells, 1937,
and Jake Webb, 1980.
    
Surviving are a son, Denzil Wells, Leesville, SC.; three daughters,
Racine Howard and Grandaline McFaddin of Paintsville, and Doris
McFaddin of Springfield, Ohio; four brothers, Robert and Walter
Burke of Van Lear and Richard and Estill Burke of Wabash, Ind.; a
sister, Lena Birchfield, of Aflex,KY.; ten grandchildren and 14
great grandchildren.
  
Funeral services were held May 3 in Jones-Preston Funeral Home
Chapel with Curtis Tussey and Bill Cantrell officiating.
  
Burial was in the Wells-Collins Cemetery at Van Lear.
