Z. C. WARD 1947 Funeral Services Held Monday Mr. Z. C. Ward, 85, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Hopkins Preston, at 9:00 P.M., Friday, September 26, following an extended illness. Mr. Ward, a retired farmer and merchant was a life-long resident of Johnson County. He was a member of one of the County’s oldest families and was one of its most respected and well-known citizens. He had been a member of the Oil Springs Methodist Church for more than fifty years. He was married to Miss Margaret Catherine Litz of East Point, who preceded him in death about twenty years ago. He is survived by his three children, two daughters, Mrs. Hopkins Preston, city, and Miss Stella Ward, Buckhannon, W. Va., one son, Arch Ward, Portsmouth, Ohio. Also one brother, Will Ward of Ashland, Ky. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church at Oil Springs, Monday at 2:00 P. M. by Rev. C. W. Krebs, assisted by the local pastor. Burial was in the family lot at Oil Springs Paintsville Herald Thursday 1-2-1947
