WILLIAM WARD 1878-1951 William Ward, 68, retired construction worker, died 8:30 am Saturday, Dec. 22 1951 at his home in Ashland Ky, following an illness of two years. A resident of Ashland for 27 years he was born March 9, 1878, in Johnson County, a son of Andrew and Lydia Litteral Ward. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Hannah Ward, four daughters, Miss Virginia Ward, at home, Mrs. Thurman Adams, Mrs. Beulah Witten and Mrs. Donna Hicks, Portsmouth, Ohio., a stepson, Wayne Griffith, David KY, and 16 grandchildren. Services were held Monday, December 24 at 10:30 am at the Gospel Tabernacle in Ashland, with the Revs R.G. Cromwell and Henry Layne officiating. Burial was in the Oil Springs cemetery.
