OPAL MARIE WARD
1913-2004
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 13 at noon at the Jones-
Preston Funeral Chapel for Opal Marie Ward, 90, who passed away
Friday, January 9 at Williamson Memorial Hospital in Pike County, Ky.
Mrs. Ward was born October 31, 1913 in Johnson County, Ky., daughter
of the late Troy and Sally Ward Daniels.
She was also preceded in death by husband Ralph Ward, four sons and
two brothers. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are five sons, Lewis Ward of Melbourne, Ky., Ronald Ward of
Grove City, Ohio, Carl Ward of Manchester, N.H., Ralph Edward Ward of
Boston, Mass., and Jeffery Ward of Indianapolis, Ind.; four
daughters, Doris Francis of Phelps, Ky., Ernestine Collins of Angier,
N.C., Sarah Bickford of Charlotte, N.C., and Janice Ward of
Summerville, Mass; one brother, Virgil Daniels of Monroe, Ohio; one
sister, Ena Mae Childers of Thelma, Ky.; 31 grandchildren, and
several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Burial took place at the Ward Family Cemetery in River, Ky.
Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home of
Paintsville, Ky.
