VERN WALTERS
1925-1997
  
Vern Walters, 72, of Williamsport, died Tuesday, November 11, 1997,
at Paul B. Hall Medical Center.
  
He was born March 17, 1925, in Johnson County, the son of Taulbee
Walters and Laura Spriggs Walters.
  
He was preceded in death by his parents.
  
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Castle Waiters; one son, Gary Wayne
Walters of Richmond; two daughters, Marcella Pack of Thelma; and
Deborah K. Smith of Williamsport; one brother, Wince Walters of
Offutt; three sisters, Ethel Wallen of Ashland; Nannie Hall of
Indiana; and Audrey Faye Ward of Offutt; seven grandchildren; two
greatgrandchildren; two step-grandchildren and one step-great-
grandchild.
  
Services were November 12, at the Old Friendship United Baptist
Church in Williamsport with Flem Arrowood, Shadie Lee Walters and
Rutherford Blair officiating.
  
Burial was in the Ben Young Cemetery in Offutt.
