ALKIE WALTERS 1925-1959 Miss Alkie Walters, 33, native of Boons Camp, died in St Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, W. Va., November 29 at 7:45 p.m., after an illness of ten days. She was born at Boons Camp April 5, 1925, the daughter of Mrs. Mandy Penix Walters and the late Earn Walters. She had resided in Huntington for the past fifteen years where she owned and operated a grocery store. Surviving besides her mother are four sisters, Mrs. Glen Arrowood, Wayne, W. Va.; Mrs. George Dutton, Huntington, W. Va., Mrs. Ivan Sammons, Akron, Ohio; Mrs. Lizzie Ellen Standford, Painesville, Ohio; two brothers, Allen Walters, Boons Camp; Edgar Walters, Flagstaff, Arizona. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday from the Little Friendship United Baptist Church at Boons Camp with Earl Muncy, George Dutton and Glen Arrowood as officiating ministers. Burial was in the Penix Cemetery at Boons Camp. Paintsville Herald Wednesday 2 December 1959
