WILLARD THOMPSON 18836-1963 Willard Thompson, 79, resident of this city, died in a local hospital at 9:30 p.m., Saturday, September 21, after an illness of three weeks. The son of the late Rube and Babe Hampton Thompson, he was born in West Virginia December 17, 1883. He was a retired miner and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Omha Blanton Thompson; four sons, Ernest Thompson, Wayne, Michigan; Curtis and Harold Thompson both of this city; Howard Thompson, Sitka; two daughters, Mrs. Lafe Jennings, Wellston, Ohio; Mrs. Wayne Blevins, Sitka; two brothers, Sam Thompson, Baltimore, Md.; Jim Thompson, Huntington, W.Va.; a sister, Lizzie Meeks, Boons Camp. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 p.m., Tuesday at the Third Street Freewill Baptist Church with Ellis Hamilton and Charles Stapleton as officiating ministers. Music was by the Sitka Quartet.
