SANFORD TACKETT 1882- 1955 Services Held Today for Retired Farmer Sanford Tackett, 73, a retired farmer of Staffordsville, died in a local hospital Sunday night following an illness of a week. Born February 18, 1882 in this county, he was the son of the late Lewis and Lydia Lemaster Tackett. He had been a resident of Staffordsville all his life. Surviving are his wife, Dora Bayes Tackett, three sons, Sherman, Herschell and Harvey Tackett, all of Staffordsville; five daughters, Mrs. O. t. Brown, Staffordsville, Mrs. Glen Pelphrey, Hueysville, Mrs. Melvin Blair, Lowmansville, Mrs. Thomas Conley and Mrs. Howard McKenzie, both of Staffordsville. Other survivors include four brothers, Floyd and Charlie Tackett, both of Staffordsville, Carol Hackett, Fairborn, Ohio, and Sam Hackett, Allen, Ky. Funeral services were held today at 1:00 p.m. at the Staffordsville United Baptist Church with the Rev. Lonza Reed Officiating. burial was made in the family cemetery under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home. NOTE: This Cemetery is also known as the "JAYNE CEMETERY"
