SAM TACKETT
VOLGA MAN DIES AT STAFFORDSVILLE SAM TACKETT, 80, BURIED TUESDAY Sam Tackett, 80-year-old retired farmer and life long resident of the Volga section, died Sunday afternoon at the home of a daughter, Mrs. June Conley of Staffordsville. He had been ill for four years. Mr. Tackett was married 50 years ago to Delila Osborne who survives. He was a member of the Untied Baptist Church. He was a son of Harmon and Lucy Shavers Tackett. Besides his daughter at whose home he died, Mr. Tackett is survived by three other daughters, Mrs. Flossie McFadden, Paintsville; Mrs. Pearl Blair, Hager Hill; Mrs. Clista Kitchen, Springfield, Ohio; three sons: Ray Tackett and Flem Tackett, Volga, and Don Tackett, Sitka, and a sister, Mrs. Tobe McKenzie of Kerz, Ky. Funeral services were conducted at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon by Rev. Lonza Reed at the United Baptist Church, Staffordsville with the Paintsville Funeral Home in charge.
