Delilah Tackett Rites Conducted Here Sunday
Mrs. Delilah Tackett, 80-year-old resident of Staffordsville, died in a local hospital at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 24, 1960 following an illness of several months.
The daughter of the late John H. and Ellen Boggs Osborne, she was born March 23, 1880, at Staffordsville and had been a lifelong resident of that community. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church.
She was preceded in death six years ago by her husband, Sam Tackett.
Survivors include three sons, Flem Tackett, Springfield, Ohio; Ray Tackett of this city; Dennie Tackett, Staffordsville; four daughters, Mrs. Homer McFaddin of this city; Mrs. Bill Blair, West Van Lear; Mrs. Ray Kitchen, Springfield, Ohio; Mrs. Hollie Conley, Staffordsville; three sisters, Bertha Osborne and Lille Osborne, both of Volga; Bessie Hyden, Dayton, Ohio.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday from the Third Street Freewill Baptist Church with Cline Salyer, Arthur Ramey, C. C. Hall and Claude Preston as officiating ministers. Music was by the Paintsville Quartet.
Burial was in the family cemetery at Staffordsville.
