Funeral services will be held today, Friday, Nov. 3, 1 p.m. at the
Jones-Preston Funeral Home for Michael Messer, 55, of Williamsport,
Ky., who passed away Tuesday, Oct. 31 at Highlands Regional Medical
Center in Prestonsburg, Ky.
Mr. Messer was born March 17, 1951 in Carter County, Ky., son of
Ruth Mundy Messer of Olive Hill, Ky., and the late Wayne Messer. He
was a heavy equipment operator.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Sandra Sue
Walters Messer of Williamsport; one step-son, Richard Scott
Burchett of Stambaugh, Ky.; two daughters, Tracie Evans of Olive
Hill, and Amanda Bear of Ashland, Ky.; one step-daughter, Jalina
Ann Burchett of Stambaugh; one sister, Sharon Geiger of Houston,
Texas; and seven grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Shermie Williams, Doug Crider and
Grover Hammonds, with burial in the Walters Family Cemetery at
Williamsport.
Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home
of Paintsville, Ky.
