EARL MARCUM
1897-1967
Earl Marcum, age, 69, died Wednesday, March 29 at 4 a.m. in St.
Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia following an extended
illness.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, April 1 at 11:00a.m. at the
Old Friendship United Baptist Church at Williamsport with Arnie
Murray, Flem Arrowood and Glenn Arrowood officiating.
Burial took place in the Butcher Cemetery at Williamsport under
direction of the Preston Funeral Home.
Born July 27, 1897 at Nolan, West Virginia he was the son of George
and Hattie Marcum.
Spending his lifetime at Williamsport, Marcum was a member of the
United Baptist Church and had been employed as an electrician.
His wife, who survives is the former Grace Butcher. They were
married on December 18, 1917 at Williamsport.
Additional survivors include three sisters, Lizzie Lynch, of Fort
Gay, West Virginia, Ruth Knepper of Columbus, Ohio and Francis Graves
of Eric, Pa.
