Paintsville resident Jack Jayne, 59, died July 17 at U.K. Medical
Center, Lexington, following a brief illness.

Mr. Jayne was born December 5, 1924, in Johnson County, the son of
Joe and Mary Cantrell Jayne.

He had been self-employed as a carpenter.

Surviving are two sons, Joe Jayne, Salyersville, and Jimmy Jayne,
Paintsville; a daughter, Jackie Jayne, Paintsville; a brother,
Edward Tackett, Grayson; three sisters, Denna Montgomery and Jean
Henshaw, Paintsvile and Georgene Hughes, Springhill, FL; and one
grandson, Joe Jayne.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 20, in Third Street
Freewill Baptist Church with Dick Vanhoose, John Frank Ratliff and
Richard officiating.

Burial was in Jayne Cemetery, Staffordsville under the direction of
the Jones-Preston Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Danny Caudill, Johnny Caudill, Everett
Blanton, Jr., Ron Hitchcock, Richard Hitchcock, Scott Jarrell, Mike
Vanhoose and Fred Nelson.

Honorary pallbearers were Frank Johnson, John P. Johnson, Sam
Griffith, Bill Jarrell, Dave Hitchcock,, Bob Montgomery, Bill
Montgomery, Junior Roman, Ralph D. Castle and Paul Raymond Tackett.
