BEN R. HAMILTON 1871-1948 Ben R. Hamilton, 87, retired farmer of Red Bush died at his home Monday, July 12. He was born at Red Bush, the son of Thomas and Mary Ferguson Hamilton, early settlers in this county. His father came here from North Carolina where he acquired property and soon became an extensive landowner in that section. Mr. Hamilton was married to Leaner Williams, who preceded him in death about fifty years ago and later he married Sarah Ison, who survives. He was widely known throughout the county and was one of the recognized leaders in his community. He was an able politician and always displayed an active interest in local, state, and national affairs. Surviving besides his wife are the following children: Mrs. Flora Fyffe, Louisa, Estill, Prudy, Ison all of Red Bush and Emery of New Richmond, Ohio. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Revs. Russell Wallen and John Hamilton at 10:00 A. M., Wednesday, July 14. Burial was in the family cemetery at Red Bush.
