JOHN THURMAN FERGUSON
1880-1970
Funeral services were conducted Monday, January 19,1970 for Elder
J. Thurman Ferguson, 89, who died Friday, January 16, 1970 in a
local hospital after an illness of several months. Elders Lonza
Reed, Arnold Reed, J.T. Bailey and Cullie Sparks officated at the
services in the United Baptist Church at Paintsville.
Burial was
in the B.R. Hamiltoin Cemetery at Red Bush with the Paintsville
Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Born at Red Bush on December 16, 1880, he was the son of the late
Elder James P. and Cynthis Lemaster Ferguson. A lifelong resident
of Red Bush, he was affiliated with the United Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthis Hall Ferguson; five sons, Elder
Buell Ferguson of Hi Hat, W. H. Bill Ferguson of Red Bush, James P.
and Drew Ferguson, address unknowbn, and Orville Ferguson of River
Rouge, Mich.; a daughter, Mrs . Guy Hamilton of River Rouge, Mich.;
twenty-nine grandchildren, forty-four great grandchildren; and one
great-great-grandchild.
