SERVICES SATURDAY
William "Uncle Will" Fairchild, 89, Died Tuesday, Sept. 15, (1953), At
His Home On Main Street, Following An Illness Of Two Months.
Born October 9, 1863 At Flat Gap, He Was The Son Of The Late Abner And
Lucinda Salyer Fairchild. He Was A Retired Blacksmith.
He Was Married January, 1884, To Serena Castle, Who Preceded Him In
Death In 1927. To This Union Were Born Eight Children; Three Sons,
Jesse Fairchild Of This City And Lindsay And Joe Fairchild, Both
Deceased; Five Daughters, Mrs. Bessie Price, City, Mrs. Grace Van
Hoose, Nippa, Mrs. Myrtle Mcfarland, Denver, Colorado, And Rosie
Akers, Siebert, Colorado. Another Daughter, Mae Fairchild, Also
Preceded Him In Death.
Other Survivors Include Three Brothers, John Wesley Fairchild, Nippa,
And Frank And J.H. Fairchild, Both Of Lakeland, Florida.
Funeral Services Were Held Saturday (Sept.19,1953) At The Rush
Freewill Baptist Church With Rev. Adrian Davis And Rev. Millard Van
Hoose Officiating.
Burial Was Made In The Van Hoose Cemetery At Nippa Under The Direction
Of The Jones Funeral Home.
