OPAL FAIRCHILD
1921-1997

Preston Funeral Home was in charge of services for Opal Fairchild, 75,
who died Thursday, April 3, 1997at Mt. View Health Center at Elkhorn
City.

Mrs. Fairchild was born August 12, 1921, in Letcher County, to the
late Cyrus and Cora Castle Fairchild.

She was a member of the United Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Thomas VanHoose.

Surviving are one son, Kenneth VanHoose of Lynhurst, Virginia; one
daughter, Yvonne Simmons of Straton, Virginia; two sisters, Margaret
Borders of Paintsville, and Oma Grandmason of Flat Rock, Michigan; and
four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 6, at Preston Funeral Home
Chapel, with Jeffery Burchett officiating.

Burial was in Fairchild Cemetery at Nippa.
