Services at Red Bush For Aged Resident

Mrs. Martha Jane Wallen Evans, 89, died at her home in Red Bush,
Sunday September 30, 1951, at 4:45 p.m., after an illness of two
weeks.

She was born in Morgan County on May 12, 1862, the daughter of James
and Nancy Pennington.  She had resided most of her life in Red Bush,
where she had been a member of the United Baptist Church for 62 years.

Her first marriage was to Dr. E. T. Wallen, who preceded her in death.

She later married Merida Evans, who also is deceased.

Surviving are three sons, Rev. Hood Wallen, Keaton, Ky.; Rev. C. M.
Wallen, Chillocothe, Ohio; and Bernard Wallen, Buena Vista, Ohio,
three stepdaughters, Mrs. Melissa Williams, Greenup County, Ky.; Mrs.
Felix Fyffe, Ohio; and Mrs. Lina Fyffe, Keaton, Ky., and one stepson,
Jim Evans of Barn Rock, Ky.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 1951,
at the Enterprise Baptist Church at Red Bush, Ky., by Revs. Tommie
Bailey and Emerson Collier.

Internment was in the Hamilton Cemetery at Red Bush under the
direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.
