DIES AT VAN LEAR
Mrs. Jewel Dennison, 19, wife of R. W. Dennison, died at her home in
Van Lear about 3:00 p. m., Saturday, February 18, following an
illness of four months.
She was born at Odds, Ky., February 26, 1930, the daughter of Ben and
Jessie Collins Howard.
A resident of Van Lear for the past three years, she was a member of
the Van Lear Church of Christ. She was married in this city January
1, 1946 to Mr. Dennison, who survives her.
She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Gale, and a son, Larry Ray.
Survivors also include five sisters, Misses Darlene, Geneva, Donna
Lou, Lola, and Linda, all of Odds; five brothers, Albert of this
city, Truman, Darce, Charles, and Jerry Howard, all of Odds; two half
brothers, Douglas Collins and Offutt Howard, both of Odds; one half
sister, Mrs. Lindsey Goble, Inez, and her maternal grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. Bailey Collins, Odds.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a. m., Tuesday, February 21,
at the Church of Christ at Odds by Revs. Spurgeon Honeycutt and J. H.
Short.
Burial was in the Collins cemetery at Odds under the direction of the
Preston Funeral Home.
