Former Resident Dies Wednesday Heart Attack Fatal To Retired Farmer Ross Daniel, 79, died at his home at West Union, Ohio, Wednesday September 5 1956, a few hours after being stricken by a heart attack. A former resident of this county, he had been living in West Union for the past ten years. He was the son of the late Newt and Betsy Castle Daniel of Johnson County. He was a member of the United Baptist Church and engaged in farming before his retirement. He is survived by eleven children, seven sons, Orville, Galion, Ohio; Ray, Amelia, Ohio; Arnold, Cincinnati, Ohio; Richard, Galion, Ohio; Roscoe, U.S. Navy; Elmer, West Union, Ohio; Ryth, Menifee, County; four daughters, Mrs. Hazel Moore, Cincinnati, Ohio; Mrs. Grace Cross, Miss Ruth Daniel and Miss Edna Daniel all of West Union, Ohio; one brother, Gus Daniel, of Ripley, Ohio, also survives. Funeral services were conducted at the Tom's Creek Freewill Baptist Church, at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 9, with Revs. Claude Preston and Millard VanHoose officiating. Music was by the Tom's Creek Singers. Burial was in the Sycamore Cemetery at Nippa under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
