Sol Blevins, 86, Dies At Van Lear

Sol Blevins, 86, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Geneva Wood at
Van Lear, with whom he made his home, at 12:45 a. m., Tuesday, May 11.

Mr. Blevins was born on Toms Creek October 5, 1861, the son of the late
Lewis Blevins and Polly Ann Meade Blevins, early settlers of the
community.

He is survived by his wife Susan Lemaster Blevins and the following
children: Lonza, East Point, Lewis, City, Wiley, Newfoundland, Ky., Mrs.
Mary Ann Salyer, Van Lear, Dan Blevins, Meally, Mrs. Flora Alice Corner,
San Antonia, Texas, Arnold, Van Lear, Mrs. Emma Adkins, Lowmansville,
and Mrs. Geneva Wood, Van Lear.

Also surviving are three brothers, Robert, Weeksbury, Elijah, city,
present jailer of Johnson County, George D. Blevins, city, and one
sister, Mrs. Cynthia Dills, Hager Hill.

Funeral services were held today at 1:30 p. m. at the Old Union Church at
Staffordsville and burial was in the cemetery near the mouth of Mud Lick.
