LONZA BLEVINS
1894-1967
Lonza Blevins, 72, Route 2, Jackson, Ohio, died on Friday, July 7,
11:30 a.m., in the Oak Hill General Hospital, after an extended
illness.
Born in Johnson County on July 16, 1894, he was the son of the late
Sol and Susan Lemaster Blevins.
He had been a resident of Jackson for the last 15 years. He was a
farmer and a member of the United Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Liza Frazier Blevins; three sons, Lonza
of Warsaw, Indiana; Albert of West Van Lear, and James Solman of
Jackson, Ohio; nine daughters, Mrs. Ella Blair of Warsaw, Indiana;
Mrs. Marybelle Hurt of Pierceton, Indiana; Mrs. Bonnie Jean
Crabtree, Miss Lora Alice Blevins, Miss Suzzie Mae Blevins, Miss
Lisa Marie Blevins, Miss Judy Carol Blevins, all of Jackson, Ohio;
Mrs. Betty Daniels, Louisa, and Mrs. Ruth Ann Reynolds of Columbus,
Ohio.
Also surviving are four brothers, Lewis Blevins of Paintsville;
Wiley Blevins, Flat Gap; Dan Blevins of Detroit, Michigan; and
Arnold Blevins of Jackson, Ohio; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Ann
Mitchall of Beaver, Ohio; Mrs. Emma Adkins of Davis Branch; Mrs.
Flora Russ of San Antonio, Texas; and Mrs. Geneva Salyer of
Chicago, Illinois.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday, July 10, 2 p.m., in the
Old Union Church of Staffordsville, with Elzie Banks officiating.
Burial followed in the Jayne Cemetery at Staffordsville, under the
direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
