FLORA BLEVINS 1876-1959 Mrs. Flora Mae Blevins, 82, wife of John E. Blevins of this city, died in a local hospital at 4:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 6, after suffering a stroke the day before. She was born August 20, 1876, at Kerz and was the daughter of the late A.J. McKenzie. She has been a resident of this city for the past twenty-three years. Surviving besides her husband are three sons, Russell Blevins, Arnold Blevins,and Johnny Blevins, all of this city; seven daughters, Mrs. Florence Baldridge, West Van Lear; Mary Brooks of this city; Birdie Blair, Hager Hill; Gypsie Goble, West Van Lear; May Maynard, Huntington, W.Va., June Davis and Malta Gillson, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister, Lula Simpson and one brother, Fonza McKenzie, both of New Boston, Ohio. Funeral services were conducted Thursday at 1:00 p.m., from the First Freewill Baptist Church on Third Street with C.C.Hall and Scott Castle as officiating ministers.
