WORLD WAR I VETERAN DIES
Everett Blevins, 51, veteran of World War I, died at 3:45 p.m.,
October 6, at the home of his mother, Mrs. Flora May Dale, following
an illness of several months.
He had been a patient in the Veterans’ Hospital in Huntington for
some time and had returned home on Friday before his death.
He was the son of the late John Elliott Blevins. He is survived by
his mother; one son, John Blevins, and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 Thurs. morning at the Freewill
Baptist Church by the Revs. Scott Castle and Jess Tacket.
Burial was in the Stafford cemetery, and members of the American
Legion Post No. 117 conducted the last rites.
