Former Resident Dies in Ohio

Mrs. Edna Blanton, 54, died suddenly of a heart attack at 11:00 p.m.,
Thursday, June 18, 1959, while en route to a hospital in Bellaire,
Ohio, from her home in Bridgeport, Ohio.

The daughter of the late Moses and Mary Susie Shaffer Tackett, she was
born in Johnson County December 8, 1904, and had been a resident of
Bridgeport for the past nine years.

She was a member of the Old Union Baptist Church of Staffordsville.

Surviving are her husband, Haden Blanton; three sisters, Mrs. Mamie
Dyer, Ashland; Mrs. Shirly Wilson, Staffordsville; Mrs. Maude McKenzie,
Dayton Ohio; four brothers, J. H., Paris, and Wayne Tackett, all of
Staffordsville; and Ted Tackett, Carey, Ohio.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m., Sunday from the Old
Union Baptist Church at Staffordsville with F. F. Rigsby, C. J. Sparks
and Ransom Hackworth as officiating ministers. Pallbearers were Bobbie
Conley, Ray Verne McKenzie, Edward Tackett, Walter Tackett, Kenneth
Tackett, Roger Tackett, Mosie Ritchie, Ranzie Tackett, Glenn Tackett
and Earl Tackett.

Burial was in the Jayne Cemetery at Staffordsville.
