JAMES W BAYES Services Friday For James Bayes Kenwood Resident Dies Following Long Illness Leading teacher in County. James W. Bayes, 72, Kenwood, Ky., died at his home Tuesday, May 13, 1952 after an illness of several months. Born at Denver, Ky., he was the son of the late John and Malinda Frazier Bays. He was married 33 years ago to Mary Vida Boss of Brooklyn, N. Y., who survives him. Other survivors are six half sisters, Mrs. Hansford Estep, Fugate, Mrs Tally Cantrell, Flat Gap, Mrs Budge Cheek, Tomahawk, Mrs Basil Woods, Collista, Mrs Mattie Sipple, California and Mrs Logan Spencer, McCarr. Educated in the common school of Johnson County, he was one of the County's leading teachers. Funeral services were held in Old Paint Union Church at Staffordsville Friday, May 16,at 10:30 A.M. with the Rev. Lonza Reed officiating. Burial was in the Persimmon Point Cemetery.
