ORVILLE, ADKINS

Orville Adkins, 57, city, was found dead about 11 p. m., January 1, 1951,
on the Greentown Road.

A broken neck has been pronounced as the cause of death, but the manner
in which he died has not been definitely determined.

Born November 13, 1893, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Adkins, he had
been a resident of Paintsville for several years.

Surviving besides his wife, Mrs. Julia Adkins, is one son, Billie Adkins,
city and one daughter, Mrs. Mitchell Meade, city. One son preceded him in
death, having been killed in death, having been killed in World War II.

Also surviving are one brother and two sisters: Mr. Lonnie Adkins,
Wayland, Ky.; Mrs. Charlie Burnett, Wayland; Mrs. Everett Todd, Sandy
Hook.

Funeral services were held today (Thursday) at 1:00 p. m. at the Thealka
Church. The Rev. Don Fraley conducted the services.

Burial followed in the Hall Cemetery under the direction of the Preston
Funeral Home.
