JOHN ELLIOTT ADAMS
1873-1961
John Elliott Adams, 88, died at the home of his son, Thurman
Adams on Patterson Creek at 8:10 a.m. Tuesday, June 20,
following an illness of two months.
The son of the late Noble Adams and Frances Jane Rowland
Adams, he was born in this county April 5,1873, and had
lived at Red bush most of his life where he engaged in
farming.
His wife, Rachel Anna Gilliam Adams, preceded him in death
in 1934.
Also surviving are five other sons; Sanford and Mart Adams,
Fuget, Charlie And Fred Adams, Greenup and Ben Adams of this
city; four daughters, Mrs. Stella Adams Lemaster, Flat Gap,
Mrs. Levena Adams Patrick, Eaton, Ohio, Mrs. Versie Adams
Jenkins, Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Clovie Adams Fairchild,
Thurman, Ohio; one brother, Levi Adams, Neon.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Thursday,
June 22, from the Estep Cemetery with John Scott Williams
and Arnold Reed as officiating ministers.
Burial will be in the Estep Cemetery at Fuget.
