JAMES BENNY ADAMS JR 1945-1959 Funeral services for James Benny Adams, Jr., 13, of Wurtland, who was killed Saturday, July 4, 1959 when struck by an automobile, will be conducted Tuesday at 11a.m. at the United Baptist Church at Fuget, Ky. The Rev. Lonzie Reed of Flat Gap, Ky., will officiate and burial will follow in the Estep Cemetery in Johnson County. The boy a son of Mrs. Elizabeth Dalton Adams and the late James M. Adams was born in Wythe County Va., August 10, 1945. He was a seventh grade student at Wurtland Elementary School. He was struck on US 23 at 3:30 p.m. Saturday by an automobile operated by Issac Abrams, 51, instantly when the car hit his bicycle one-half mile east of Greenup. An inquest is scheduled at the Greenup County Courthouse today and the driver of the car is being held in Greenup County Jail pending the inquest. Kentucky State Trooper, Robert Morrison, investigated the accident and said the automobile skidded 150 feet after striking the youth. In addition to his mother, the youth is survived by five sisters, Mrs. Lucille King, Greensburg, N.C., Mrs. Myrtle Niemi and Mrs. Frances Lambert, both of Ashtabula, Ohio, Mrs. Helen Alley of Kingsville, Ohio and Mrs. Virginia Chapman of Wurtland. The body has been removed from the Riggs-Sammons Funeral Home to the Chapman residence at Wurtland where friends may call. Burial at the Estep Cemetery in Flatgap Ky.
