WARD-GAMBILL
CEMETERY

This Cemetery was originally started as the "WARD FAMILY CEMETERY" [1800's]. Thoughout
most of the [1900's] it has been most commonly known as the "WARD-GAMBILL CEM".
In the latter 1900's it has also been called the "FOREST & MAXIE PRESTON CEM".
As the years go by we are losing many of the older headstones and burial locations in
the Johnson County Cemeteries. This is dew in part to weather eroding dates etc.,
from the older sandstones. The unknown stones are being removed to better care for the
cemeteries thus losing a known burial location, for this reason this cemetery listing
will reflect the first 1990 documentation, and then an "Aug 2003" redocumentation.
