There are two marriage dates for John and Anne, 20 years apart and one in Kenton, one in Kenn. Anne was born in Witheridge and married in the south of Devon, most likely in Kenton.
There is another Torrington family living in Kenton who could be her brother's family. This is John Torrington, married to Sarah Hewins in Kenton on 11 Aug 1751. They have 6 children, John, Mary, Nathanial, Sarah, Jenny and William, all born betwee and 1761. There is a John Torrington, born in Meshaw, ch 25 Apr 1732, who has a sister Anne ch 17 Feb 1722, both the children of William Torrington and Joan Reed.
Anne died as a pauper either 31/1/1787 or 14/4/1793 at Kenton.
Postscript Anne might not be the right person, as she was born in 1722 and was still having children in her 50's. There is another possibility; a Hannah Torrington, ch 3 Jan 1734, at North Molton, the daughter of Philip Torrington and Hannah Fray,ed 13 Jun 17321, North Molton, is a strong possibility in this age of poor spelling. There is also a sister, Jone, ch 9 Mar 1737. Parents: William Torrington-34636 and Joan Reed-34637.
