Civil War Battlefield Tour - A Photographic History into the Regiments of John Denver and William W. Wood
In the summer of 2005, Bill Bozic, a descendant of the brother of John D. Wood and William W. Wood, made a trek to several Civil War sites whilst working on another project. He sent the following photographs and stories to his cousins via emails and postcards. He was kind enough to allow them to be posted upon this website for posterity and for further sharing amongst anyone interested in the history and genealogy behind the people involved.
The words upon these sites are his, unless otherwise noted, and were solely edited by myself for clarity purposes. The photographs were also shot by him, unless otherwise noted as well.
7 July 2005 – written by Bill Bozic from Williamsburg, Virginia on a postcard to Kelley Wood:
“We finished work early yesterday so trek over John D. Wood and William Wood’s Civil War service continued. Having walked the same ground I admire them even more as the mud, swamps, flies, ravines etc. are tough enough in peacetime.”
