Another page # 4, record # 202.   It appears that after paying Love'sdoctor
bills, and other bills nothing was left of the estate.   ThatJohn Wintjen owed
$3,367. to the Illinois Public Aid Commission 6thclass,  could not be paid due 
to lack of funds. So, Rita Wintjenhad a daughter named Amanda Smith.   Who
was this minor (relationshipnever called out) Jesse Blackston(e)?  Now isn't

WATERLOO -- Glen E. Peffer, 92, of Friendship Village, died thereMonday, Sept.
20, of natural causes.
He was born June 18, 1907, in Newville, Pa., the son of R.C. "Doc" andRosanna
Peffer. He married Mildred Murphy on May 26, 1935, inWaterloo. She died July
20, 1984. He later married Marian Westerfieldon June 27, 1987.
Mr. Peffer owned Ventilated Awning Co., for 25 years then worked atPella
Products Co., for 15 years. He was past president of WaterlooJaycees and of
the Isaac Walton League.
Survived by: his wife; a son, Craig of Madison, Conn.; two daughters,Mary
Ellen Helvick of Roswell, Ga., and Barbara J. Collman ofOskaloosa; seven
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: a sister, Freta Peffer.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Waterloo Memorial Park Cemeterychapel, with
burial in the cemetery. Friends may call for an hourbefore services Thursday
at the cemetery. Locke Funeral Home is incharge of arrangements.
Memorials: may be directed to Zion American Lutheran Church orFriendship
Village Auxiliary.

OBITUARY:  From "The Iowa Recorder" - Greene, Butler Co., IA, 1 Mar1950:
FORMER GREENE RESIDENT DIED     Miss Lillian Pell was born inCenterville, New
York, in 1856, and died at Carroll, February 19 atthe age of 94 years, seven
months and 14 days, in the Tyron Nursinghome where she had lived the past
three years.     She was thedaughter of Elizabeth Gould Pell and Jerome Pell,
pioneer residents ofGreene.     She spent her early years here in Greene
where she wasengaged in the millinery business, and where she cared for her
parentsuntil their death. She then went to Minneapolis where she became
atrimmer in a wholesale house.     She later went to Ida Grove whereshe and a
cousin, Mrs. Philip Gould, had a millinery store.     Asold age came upon her
she was overtaken by ill health and spent thelast three years in a nursing
home in Carroll. She was a life longmember of the Methodist church and a 40
year member of the Rebekahlodge.     She had the honor of having two uncles,
Rev. Philip Gouldand Rev. Joseph Gould, who were pioneer Methodist ministers
in thisvicinity.     She leaves to mourn one niece, Mrs. Florence
Malloy,Minneapolis, Minnesota, and a few second cousins.     Brief
serviceswere held at the Hann Funeral home, Wednesday, February 22 at
1:45.Officiating was Rev. C. W. Kimbrell of the local Methodist church.Burial
was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Inpension application statements, Lydia Colvin Pell remembered herhusband's
war service a bit differently. On 31 May 1841, she statedthat Thomas Pell "was
a Sergeant in the army of the Revolution. Thathe resided at the commencement
of the Revolution in the town of Eas tHoosuck in the County of Berkshire and
State of Massachusetts. That heen listed and served under Captain Enos Parker
in the year 1776. Thatshe the said Lydia Pell resided at the same time in the
town o fHoosuck aforesaid. That he the said Thomas Pell returned home onfurlow
and that she the said Lydia was married to the said Thomas Pellin the month of
September she thinks on the 23rd day 1776 and that thesaid Thomas Pell her
husband remained at home with her about three weeks, and went back to the
service in the army, was stationed at or near Boston, that after serving . . .
more than one year he left the service and they then moved to the town of
Clarendon in the county of Rutland in the State of Vermont in the year 1778.
That after settling in the said County of Rutland he was called into service
and was attached and served under Captain Sawyer and was in the service moreor
less from that time till the close of the war . . . ."     On 24Sep 1841,
Lydia added that . . . "Thomas Pell who was a Private and Sergeant in the War
of the Revolution and that she was married to the said Thomas Pell in the
month of September in the year 1776, thinks onthe 23d day of said month at
East Hoosac in the State of Massachusetts by Elder Todd who was a Minister and
a Justice of the Peace at thetime, and that she distinctly recollects that
their their intended marriage was published in Pittsfield and that he the said
Thomas Pellwas called away into the Service and that he did not return until
September two or three days before the marriage and stayed two daysafter the
marriage and returned to the Armey at New York and that she did not see him
again for five months . . . that her said husband wasout under Captain Park of
Hoosac and Captain Simons of Williamstownbefore she and her husband moved to
Vermont State which was two yearsafter their marriage and that she knows that
her first child was overone years old when they moved to the State of Vermont.
And she furtherdeclares that her Husband was in the Service the most of the
timeafter they moved to Vermont till the Close of the war."

ELLSWORTH H. PEOPLES
Ellsworth H. [Tink] Peoples, 56, of Williamsport, formerly ofWellsboro RD 5,
was pronounced dead on arrival at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug.1, 1972, at the Divine
Providence Hospital. Mr. Peoples died of aheart attack.
He was born July 8, 1916, in Irwin, a son of William E. and BerthaCook
Peoples.
Mr. Peoples was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
He was also a member of the Lycoming County Consolidated Sportsmen.
Surviving are his wife, the former Elaine Clark; two sons, Lewis E.,serving
with the Army in Germany, an Artley E., at home; twodaughters, Misses Pansy M.
and Rebekah E., both at home; his mother,Mrs. Bertha Stroher, of Wellsboro; a
brother, William A. Peoples, ofElkland RD 1; and two sisters, Mrs. James
Kriner and Mrs. CarsonKimball, both of Wellsboro, and a grandmother, Mrs. Emma
Cook, ofCommodore, Indiana County.
The funeral was held on Friday at Spitler's, 733 Broad Street,Montoursville,
with the Rev. Everett W. Bixler, his pastor,officiating. Burial was in
Montoursville Cemetery.

Deceased Name: Audrey P. Klein
CLIFTON - Audrey P. Klein, a longtime elementary school teacher inClifton
public schools, died Sunday in Passaic. She was 78.
Mrs. Klein, who suffered from Parkinson's disease, was hospitalized onJan. 3
at Passaic Beth Israel Regional Medical Center. The cause ofdeath was cardiac
arrest, her family said.
Born in Paterson, Mrs. Klein taught in Clifton public schools for atotal of 26
years. After receiving a master's degree in education fromMontclair State
University in 1948, she began teaching fifth grade atSchool 2. During her five
years there, she was the first Cliftoneducator to teach a homebound student
using a telephone and intercomdevice made by Bell Telephone Co.
In 1954, Mrs. Klein left teaching to raise her four children. In 1968,she
returned to the profession that she loved and began teaching sixthgrade at
School 5, the neighborhood school her children attended. ButMrs. Klein never
let her job get in the way of what was most importantto her: her family.
"Teaching allowed her to still be a full-time mother. Her vacationswere the
same as ours. We were never pushed to the back burner,"Barbara Krukar said of
her mother.
She later earned a certificate in elementary education and beganteaching at
Woodrow Wilson Middle School when the sixth grade moved upfrom the elementary
level. Her daughter Carol Gibson, also asixth-grade teacher, taught at the
same school with her mother from1985 to 1989, when Mrs. Klein retired.
Mrs. Klein is survived by her husband, Daniel Sr. two sons, Daniel J.Klein Jr.
and wife Deloris of Blairstown and William Klein of Cliftontwo daughters,
Carol Gibson and husband John of Glenwood and BarbaraKrukar and husband
Mitchell of Long Valley and seven grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Philip TheApostle
Roman Catholic Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton, withinterment at Holy
Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa. Visiting will beWednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home,1313 Van Houten Ave, Clifton.
