OBITUARY: "The Hanford Sentinel" [Hanford, Kings Co., CA] September12, 2009
Jacqueline Lee "Jackie Frilot Lapp
Jacqueline "Jackie" Lee Lapp lost her long battle with Alzheimer's onSeptember
9, 2009 to join her beloved husband of 60 years, John"Jack" Leo Lapp, in
heaven. She was only 77 years old. Jackie was born in Jefferson Hospital in
Los Angeles, CA on Sept. 4. 1932 toVerda Lee and Armand Anthony Frilot. Her
half brother was Melvin MerleMeler. The fastest runner in her elementary
school, Jackie alsoloved to dance and roller skate. At the age of 12, she and
her motherleft Los Angeles and moved first to Visalia, then to Hanford,
CA.While attending Hanford High School, Jackie was a talented soprano inthe
acapella choir. A lifetime love affair began when Jackie, as aHanford High
cheerleader, met Jack Lapp, the center and linebacker forthe Hanford High
Bullpups. They were married on June 10, 1950. TheLapps built their life in
Hanford and raised three children, Denise,Toni, and John. Jackie was always
giving back to the community. Thesorority she helped to found (Theta Tau
Theta, Lambda Alpha Chapter)raised money for the Bearskin Meadows Children's
Diabetic Camp. Shealso walked neighborhoods to raise money for the American
HeartAssociation and March of Dimes. In her work life, Jackie wasemployed
by the Hanford telephone company, Lacy Milling, Bank ofAmerica, Turner's Feed
Mill, and for Doctors Kerr and Christiansen. Alittle known fact about Jackie
is that in the 1960's Jackie knew allthe names of her beloved Green Bay
Packers. She also liked to screamand cheer at the motorcycle races in Hanford.
Jack and Jackie mademany memorable trips to Las Vegas with friends and family;
she reallyenjoyed the horse races and always bet on the "grey" horses.Jackie's
four great loves were dancing, reading, crafting, andspending time at the
coast. Jack and Jackie were famous for theirsmooth dance moves and danced for
many years with the Hanford JollyBunch. She was also a voracious reader and
loved to make things withher hands, from carpet purses to knitted dish
clothes. But far andaway, the one thing that made Jackie most happy was the
sound andsmells of the ocean. Her favorite spot was Leffingwell Cove in
Cambriawhere she would sit for hours watching the waves crash against
therocks. Over the years the Lapps owned homes near the ocean in Los Ososand
later in Cayucos where Jackie felt most content and at peace.Jackie is
survived by her children Denise Vail Tallman and spouseStephen of Phoenix;
Toni Lee Edwards and spouse Keith of Fresno; andJohn Dominic Lapp and spouse
Heidi of San Diego. She has threegrandchildren, Dustin Paul Maciel, Noah
Dominic Lapp and Jacob KellerLapp and one great-grandchild, McKenna Rose
Maciel. Visitation willbe held at People's Funeral Chapel, 501 N. Douty

OBITUARY
LOUISA FROST BAYLY
Louisa Frost, a granddaughter of the late Isaac Merritt and wife ofBevier
Southwick Bayly died early on the morning of the 31st ult., atPoughkeepsie
after a brief illness of typhoid pneumonia.
Her death is a sad blow to a devoted husband and to a large circle offriends,
and deprives two promising young children of a king andloving mother. He life
has been a quiet and unassuming one, yet fullof good influence, and her
character was lovable in all the ways thatgo to make up true, noble womanhood.
Probably few young ladies inthat city has more warm hearted friends or were
more highly respectedthan Mrs. Bayly. She had been contemplating for some
time joining theSecond Reformed church and a week ago Sunday last she and her
fondchildren - John Austin, and Adele were baptized in waters of the
riverJordan at her home, and she partook of the sacrament with Rev.
Wm.Bancroft Hill and one of the elders at that church. This impressiveand
solemn incident of her closing hours will linger always as apleasing
recollection in the hearts of the bereaved family groupedabout her bedside.
Mrs. Bayly was the youngest daughter of the lateCharles Frost formerly of
Bloomvale, and died in her 30th year, thisconstituting the third death in her
grand-father's family in the pastfour months.
Two sisters survive her - Mrs. Eliza M. Hoyt, of Ovid, Mich, and MissJulia M.
Frost, also two brothers, Arthur L., and Alfred M. Frost, thelatter three of
Poughkeepsie.
At her late residence in Mill street to which many beautiful floralofferings
had been sent, a very solemn and impressive service onSunday afternoon was
conducted by the Rev. W.B. Hill assisted by achoir of ladies.
