A major factor in this collection of photos are the marriages of Betsey Ann Surrarrer. Betsey Ann first married Thomas Jefferson Wiggins (b. abt. 1830 in New York) on February 15, 1854 in Newaygo County, Michigan. Thomas & Betsey had 5 children between 1856 and 1866. Thomas disappeared in the late 1860s.
James Boone (b. abt. 1836 in Canada, West) married Betsey's sister, Lydia Louise Surrarrer (b. abt. 1849 in New York) reportably in 1867. Lydia died in child birth sometime before mid 1870. James then married Betsey on September 18, 1870 in Newaygo County, Michigan. James & Betsey had 5 children between 1871 and 1879. James died May 5 of 1900. Although Betsey's obituary doesn't give a date that she died, James must have preceeded her.
