(1829 - 1908) Fulton County Tribune; Wauseon, Oh Friday, October 2, 1908, Page 5 Mrs. Verena Boehm died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Sunday. The funeral services were held Wednesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Keller of this township. The obituary will be given next week.  Friday, Oct. 16, 1908, Page 8 Mrs. Verena Boehm was born in Switzerland, May 9, 1829 and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bryon Proudfoot, in York Township, Sept. 27, at the age of 79 years, 1 months and 16 days. In 1852 she and her husband came to America and located in Lucas county, where she resided until six years ago when owing to advancing years she gave up her home and came to this county to live with her children. For over thirty years, Mrs. Boehm lived a widow. She was a kind, faithful, Christian woman and she was happiest when she was adding to the comfort and pleasure of others. She leaves to mourn their loss eight children, thirty two grand children and three great grand-children. The funeral services were held at the home of Henry Keller and the remains were interred in Wauseon Cemetery. Card Of Thanks We desire to thank the friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted us during the sickness, death and burial of our beloved mother. We will ever cherish the kind words spoken and we deeply appreciate those acts of kindness which aided us to bear our weight of sorrow. The Family Verena HOBITZER (May 9, 1829 in Switzerland - Srpt. 27, 1908 in Fulton Co., Ohio) married Andreas BOEHM (Aug. 20, 1826 in Switzerland - Nov. 20, 1871) before 1855. They had 9 children: Paul, Pauline, Ernest, Sophia I., Ida Rose, Charles, Bertha Ida, Emile C. and Emma C. They immigrated to America between 1869 & 1870. All the children were born in Switzerland except the youngest, Emma, who was born October 27, 1870 in Ohio. Andreas died November 20, 1871 in Whitehouse, Luas Co., Ohio. Verena is recorded as Fanny Boehm on the 1880 Census in Waterville Twp., Lucas Co., Ohio. Return To The Index |
